>> How do psychic readings and mediumship work?
Who knows, honestly. Some people think our ancestors and other spirit guides provide the information; some people think information is just out there and readers can tap into it. I stopped worrying about it decades ago, because over hundreds of readings, I saw myself provide accurate information and useful advice to people, so I just accept that it does work.
>> What do I need to do during a reading?
Just sit quietly and let the energies open up. For an in-person tarot reading, I'll ask you to cut the deck, and that's the hardest part. If you have a specific question, let me know, and think about it as I shuffle the cards, stir the runes, or reach out to your guides -- let your mind wander over the context, your options, and possible outcomes. During the reading itself, it's helpful to let me know when I've said something that rings true or that doesn't; you can say as much or as little as you want as far as potentially private specific details.

>> What's it like to give a reading?
Everyone has their own method and their own experiences when reading. For me, it's first about gently opening up to your energy, next (for tarot or runes) about literally reading from the system, and then, branching out from those fixed meanings, I listen to what my intuition and guides are saying. When a reading is going well, I get a light sensation of heat around the top of my head, from the crown chakra to the level of the third eye, and a very slight tingling in the middle of my ribcage, at the heart chakra. Some people feel it in their hands, their spine, or their face, and plenty of us don't get particular physical feelings at all. I'm mostly clairvoyant, where I see images in my mind's eye, and claircognizant, where I just know things. Some people are very clairaudient (hearing things) or clairsentient (feeling emotions). I do get some things through those channels, myself, just not as much as via sight and knowledge.
When I teach, I always tell students that when you're saying things and you have no idea why, that's when you're really doing it. That's when the reading is speaking from within you.
When I have upcoming classes, you can find them listed here.
>> How can I learn to be a psychic reader or medium?
Taking a class is a good way to dip your toes in with others new to the art, and it's a lot of fun. If you enjoy the experience, there are numerous books on every form of divination you could wish to learn. My favorite for tarot is Cynthia Giles' Tarot: History, Mystery, and Lore, and for mediumship, it's Sharon Anne Klingler's Answers from the Ancestral Realms. After that, it's just practice. When I got serious about tarot as a teenager, I spent a couple of months meditating on every card in my deck individually, channeling and feeling the energy in it and learning the system bit by bit. When I got into mediumship, many years later, I was sensitive and skilled enough to be able to do it right off, and practice was more about learning to trust myself and my guides than actually learning to do it.
>> How does booking a party work?
I love working parties, and I'll go anywhere in the Buffalo area. Just email me for information. Depending on how many people you're expecting and how many of them are likely to want readings, we can work out an hourly rate or a per-reading rate. I can also do a discount for group readings over Zoom, if you want to get together with long-distance friends and discover your destinies together!
